Estelle Labelle

— THE WITCH-WASTREL —
Discarded remnants of a fractured House.
Now, a witch-wastrel of foregone nobility,
pawning trinkets and half-truths for a pittance.

"Estelle Labelle, she says."

  "Since when?"
"Thirty-two summers ago."

  "Yea high?"
"Five fulms, nine ilms."

AT A GLANCE

Unkempt and bedraggled stood the witch, whose wardrobe marked bespoke affluence - yet moth-bitten, and worn by myriad seasons. Once gleaming jewelry sat tarnished, each affixed with counterfeit gemstones, plainly without shame. The performance of beauty is plainly what mattered to the woman, authenticity be damned.Adorning her crown sat her most awing feature: A witches' hat of sincere enormity, frumpy and frayed. It was visibly several sizes too large, more like to suit a Roegadyn than half-Elezen. The violet brim seeped and sagged across her brow, making it difficult to catch an unobstructed view. The witches' features sat between that of her parentage, equal parts Midlander as Duskwight. Her face, rounded and gentle, was belied by brows knit together in a perpetually sour expression. Long, limp Elezen-like ears drooped on either side the woman's face, accentuating her descending features. That mop of hair, wiry and black, laid utterly disheveled beneath her violet brim. Luscious pitch curls betrayed all efforts to groom, rebelling as they furled into differing directions. The difficulty to manage such rakish follicles gave way to an unfastidious appearance. The witch had, largely, surrendered to its whims.Body language spoke of grace, overwritten by lackadaisical indifference. Prim and proper, yet singularly inelegant. Unfurled, unrefined, delighting in the lack of care for her own etiquette. A woman of nobility no longer, freed to slump and lean.

in closer inspection

  • Left for her mind to wander, fingers oft twitched and raked at raw cuticles; a nervous tic, no doubt. World-weary eyes darted to-and-fro, ever readied for an intangible threat.

  • Strapped across her spine by a leather sash was a weighty staff fashioned of gnarled, dessicated oak. Atop rested a crystal of deep crimson, dim and lifeless.

  • The degrading aroma of tobacco stained into the fabric of her dress, permeating the woman almost in her entirety. The fore brim of her witches' hat was similarly discoloured by cigarette smoke. The only hope to hide that heinous smell was a heady splash of lavender perfume.

  • Dark, days-old makeup chipped across her cheeks, and wrapped around dreary, doe-like eyes. While it was once meticulously applied, there was little upkeep, resulting in a lavish appearance to warp into a plain fucking mess.

 a note from the author.

 — I. Themes
Horror, religion, the occult & the perverse.
Lighthearted moments, flickers of humanity.
Tension, comedy, adventure.
Things both heartfelt and painful.
As long as things feel grounded in the setting and the characters, I'm pretty open to almost any theme or tone. — III. Boundaries
I'm very firm with my IC/OOC boundaries, and I expect that of my writing partners as well. I am not my character, nor do I want there to be any blurring lines between IC and OOC. I do not feel comfortable with any kind of flirting or sexual advances.
While I prefer writing darker and more visceral themes, even the outright sexual, I do so with a lot of effort to ensure everyone involved is comfortable. A writing partner should be both willing and eager to discuss their own boundaries and comfort levels! As a personal rule, I will not write with anyone under the age of 21. Please respect this! Again, it's nothing personal, I just prefer for my writing partners to be fully formed adults. — V. Generative AI
I'm here for human art, made by real people. The usage of GenAI is an enormous creative ick. I have absolutely zero tolerance for the use of GenAI for writing, or generated character artwork.
I would vastly prefer to write opposite of an inexperienced writer who is authentic, rather than someone utilizing these tools.

 — II. Writing Style
I have a strong preference for long-term, long-form writing. A paragraph per post or longer, typically! In some situations, shorter posts are totally okay, and even encouraged for the sake of pacing, but I like to really dig my literary fingers in what I write.
If we want to do a shorter, off-the-cuff scene, I'm totally okay with that as well! It lends itself well to more public scenes out in the world, and I fully adapt to the writing style of the moment and my writing partner. — IV. Bigotry
I have a zero tolerance policy for any form of transphobia, homophobia, racism, ableism or otherwise. These topics are totally okay to approach in-fiction when relevant, but I will not abide them as genuinely held beliefs OOC.
I'm a trans woman and it's a major facet of both my identity and my literature. It's something I take great pride in, and I only really want to share that with people who will respect it. If consider yourself 'right-wing', don't bother reaching out. We will not get along, and it would be a waste of our time. — VI. Contact Information
I'm happy to exchange Discord IDs, but I do try to be a little more precious with adding people to my in-game friends list solely because of the flaws of the system.
It's not personal, just a safety thing! In Closing..
If you made it all this way, thank you so much for reading! I'm really eager to make some new writing partners, and I encourage you to reach out and say hi. Let's write together!
